Troubles of former water supply minister of Rajasthan Mahesh Joshi may increase. The matter is related to Jal Jeevan Mission. The governor has given permission for investigation against Joshi. In this case, permission has been granted for investigation against the officer along with the department. However, high level deliberations are going on in the Bhajan Lal government for permission to investigate against some big officers who are accused of corruption. It is believed that after ACB found their role suspicious in the preliminary investigation, the government is going to give permission to investigate against these officers soon. Another case of corruption in Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) during the time of the then government has come to light.
In the preliminary investigation report filed a few months ago, ACB has found the role of the then PHED minister Mahesh Joshi, ACS Subodh Agarwal and several officials of the department suspicious. On this basis, a proposal has been sent to the government for permission to file an FIR against them. ACB had sent Mahesh Joshi’s file to the Governor for permission to file the FIR. After the Governor’s approval, it was sent to ACB through the government. Permission to investigate against the departmental officials was received from the department. Rest of the files of Subodh Agarwal and others were sent to DOP and PHED. PHED refused to file names of five officials while gave permission against 7 officials.
If sources are to be believed, apart from ACS Subodh Agarwal, the case of six more officers is still pending with the Personnel Department and PHED. For this approval sought by ACB, comments have been sought from PHED about them, FIR will be registered against all even after the final decision is taken. However, the file has been sent to the government for the final decision. It is being told that the decision for this will be taken at the Chief Minister’s level. CM Bhajan Lal Sharma has returned from a foreign tour, so soon approval for investigation against these officers can also be received.
