A sensational revelation has been made in the hand grenade attack on a bungalow in Chandigarh’s posh Sector 10. Initial investigation revealed that retired SP Jaskirat Singh of Punjab Police lived in bungalow number 575 in Sector 10. This bungalow belonged to an NRI. The attackers had come to kill retired SP Jaskirat Singh, but retired Jaskirat Singh had left the bungalow 6 months ago and now the owner of the bungalow lived here with his family, who had returned from Australia. Terrorist Harvinder Rinda had hatched a conspiracy to kill the retired SP. Last year too, the Rinda gang had tried to attack the retired SP, in which 4 of its henchmen were caught. Sector-3 police station registered a case on the complaint of Bhupesh Malhotra, father of bungalow owner KK Malhotra.
Pieces of hand grenade and pin recovered from the spot
Both the youths who fled after committing the crime were caught on CCTV cameras. The attackers came on foot near Kothi No. 575, one of whom was carrying a bag. After throwing the hand grenade, the attackers fled in an auto standing far away. The police have seized the CCTV footage of the accused who fled in the auto. The police recovered pieces of hand grenade and pin from the spot. The entire city was sealed and checking of autos was started.
A deep crater was created in the lawn due to a loud explosion
Complainant retired principal KK Malhotra told the police that he lives with his wife in bungalow no. 575. His son Bhupesh Malhotra lives abroad. On Wednesday evening at 6:03 pm, he was sitting with his wife in the verandah. Suddenly there was a huge explosion in the lawn. He was shocked and frightened. When he went to the lawn and looked, there was a crater and the window panes were broken. After the explosion, people from the nearby houses also came out. The police was informed about the matter. Chandigarh SSP Kanwardeep Kaur said that there was a blast inside the bungalow, which is being investigated by police teams. The police is also checking the records of the tenants living in the bungalow. The police have registered a case on the complaint of the bungalow owner.
RPG attack was carried out on the Intelligence Headquarters of Punjab Police in Mohali
In May 2022, there was an RPG attack on the Intelligence Headquarters of Punjab Police in Mohali. Harvinder Rinda, a terrorist sitting in Pakistan, had carried out this attack on the Intelligence Headquarters in Mohali. Rinda is originally from Tarn Taran district of Punjab. Several cases are registered against him. Later he fled to Pakistan and keeps committing terrorist acts at the behest of ISI to spoil the atmosphere of Punjab and India. He is associated with the terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International. The Union Home Ministry has declared Rinda a terrorist.
