Bus fell into the ditch

There was a huge road accident in Dang district of Gujarat on Sunday morning. Where a private bus carrying pilgrims fell into a deep ditch, in which 5 people died. 35 others were injured. Police said 17 people were seriously injured in the injured.

Accident at 4 am

Superintendent of Police in -charge SG Patil said that the accident occurred at 4.15 am when the bus driver lost control of the bus near Saputara Hill Station. He said that the bus carrying 48 pilgrims fell into a ditch about 35 feet deep, breaking the crash barrier.

Identity of dead

Police said the deceased have been identified as bus driver Ratanlal Jatav, two other male Bholaram Koswa and Bijroni Yadav and two women Guddibai Yadav and Kailashbai Yadav. A team of local people and police personnel carried out a rescue operation. They took the passengers out of the bus and have been rushed to the nearest health center for treatment.

Serious injured were referred to another hospital

Police officer Patil said that a total of 35 passengers are undergoing treatment at the nearest Community Health Centers (CHC), out of which 17 have been referred to the Civil Hospital in Ahwa in the district.

Accident took place 2.5 km from the hill station

Passengers from Trimbakeshwar, a religious place in Nashik district of Maharashtra, left for Dwarka in Gujarat at night. The official said that he had stayed for a while in Saputara for tea before starting his journey, when the accident occurred 2.5 km from the hill station.

Pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh are pilgrims

He said that pilgrims living in Guna, Shivpuri and Ashok Nagar districts of Madhya Pradesh had left in four separate buses on a visit to religious places in various states on December 23, 2024. Dang Collector Mahesh Patel said that the unfortunate incident occurred when one of the four buses carrying the pilgrims fell into the ditch.
