PM Modi visits Gujarat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the second phase of the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Extension in Ahmedabad on Monday during his Gujarat visit. Also, PM Modi flagged off India’s first Vande Metro trains between Bhuj and Ahmedabad. Apart from this, PM Modi gave a big gift to the people of the state by inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of several development projects costing more than Rs 8,000 crore. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel was present in all these programs along with Prime Minister Modi.
Middle class people will get facility
Addressing the program organized in Ahmedabad, PM Modi said that today is a special day for Gujarat for another reason. Namo Bharat Rapid Rail has started running between Ahmedabad and Bhuj from today. Namo Bharat Rapid Rail is going to provide a lot of convenience to our middle class families who travel from one city to another in the country every day.
PM Modi took a metro ride
The second phase of the metro rail network has been developed by Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) in collaboration with the Government of Gujarat and the Central Government. After inaugurating the second phase of the Metro Rail Extension, PM Modi enjoyed the journey from Section 1 Metro Station to Gift City Metro Station. During the metro journey, PM Modi also interacted with the children, girls and women passengers traveling and also got to know their views on the development of Gujarat and the country. All the metro passengers looked very happy to have PM Modi near them.

Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel were present with PM Modi during the metro journey. The metro train running between Bhuj and Ahmedabad has been named Namo Bharat Rapid Rail. Earlier it was named Vande Metro. Talking about the service of this metro train, it will stop at nine stations. It will cover a distance of 360 km in 5 hours and 45 minutes at a maximum speed of 110 km per hour.
Service will be available from 5 am
This metro train will run every day of the week except Sunday. Train number 94802 Bhuj-Ahmedabad Vande Metro will leave Bhuj every day at 05.05 am and reach Ahmedabad at 10:50 am the same day, while train number 94802 Bhuj-Ahmedabad will leave Bhuj at 05.05 am and reach Ahmedabad at 10:50 am the same day.
There will be stops at these stations
The metro train running between Bhuj and Ahmedabad will stop at Sabarmati, Chandiodia, Viramgam, Dhrangadhra, Halvad, Samakhiali, Bhachau, Gandhidham and Anjar stations in both directions
Metro train is equipped with these facilities
According to the Railway Ministry, the Rapid Rail has 12 coaches with a seating capacity of 1,150 passengers and has several innovative features. “With ergonomically designed seats, fully air-conditioned cabins and modular interiors, it certainly stands out from other metros.
Many Vande Bharat trains were flagged off
Apart from this, PM Modi also flagged off several Vande Bharat trains from Ahmedabad on Monday. These Vande Bharat trains will run between Kolhapur-Pune, Pune-Hubli, Nagpur-Secunderabad, Agra Cantt to Banaras and Durg to Visakhapatnam.
