Gujarat Rain: Heavy rains cause havoc in Gujarat, 30 people dead so far, no hope of relief yet, red alert issued in many districts | News Track in English

Gujarat Rain: Heavy rains are wreaking havoc in various parts of Gujarat. Heavy rains have claimed the lives of 19 more people in the state. With this, the death toll has risen to 30 in the last three days. The people of Gujarat are yet to get relief from heavy rains.

Even today, a red alert for heavy rain has been issued in 11 districts of the state while a yellow alert has been issued in 22 districts. Relief operations are being carried out in the state with the help of the Air Force. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also taken information about the relief work by talking to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. The Chief Minister himself is engaged in monitoring the relief and rescue operations.

The situation is not likely to improve for the next five days

These days, Gujarat is witnessing heavy rains. Due to more than normal rainfall, 18 districts of the state have been badly affected. The maximum havoc of rain is seen in districts like Jamnagar, Morbi, Surendranagar, Junagadh, Rajkot, Kutch, Dwarka, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Botad, Gir Somnagar etc. The Meteorological Department says that the situation in Gujarat is not going to improve for the next five days.

According to the Meteorological Department, there will be heavy rains in various districts of the state for the next five days. A red alert for heavy rains has been issued in 11 districts of the state while a yellow alert for rains has been issued in 22 districts.

In such a situation, people’s troubles are not going to reduce in the coming days. There is also a possibility of storm during the next two days. The Meteorological Department has advised fishermen not to go to sea for the next two days.

Life affected due to heavy rain

The situation is so bad in many districts of Gujarat that even schools for children have been closed. All primary schools in Vadodara, Jamnagar, Kutch and Dwarka have been ordered to remain closed today. Due to waterlogging in various districts of the state, life has been greatly affected and people are confined to their homes.

Five national highways and 66 state highways of the state have been closed due to heavy rains. Due to this, people are facing difficulties in commuting. The supply of essential commodities has also been affected due to the closure of many roads.

A big campaign to provide relief to the affected people

The state government has launched a major campaign to provide relief to the people affected by floods and waterlogging in various districts of Gujarat. Relief and rescue operations are being carried out with the help of NDRF, SDRF, Army, Indian Air Force and Indian Coast Guard. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel held a high-level meeting at the Disaster Control Room in Gandhinagar for the third consecutive day and took stock of the situation from the District Officer, Municipal Commissioner and Development Officers.

So far, about 42,000 people have been sent to safe places after the onset of monsoon in Gujarat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has again taken stock of the situation in Gujarat by talking to the Chief Minister of the state Bhupendra Patel today. The Prime Minister also inquired from the Chief Minister about the relief material sent by the Center. He has instructed the Chief Minister to run the relief and rescue operation on a war footing. The concern of the state government has increased because there is no possibility of the weather improving in the coming days.
