Gujarat News: A major accident took place in Mehsana Jasalpur village in Gujarat on Saturday, where 8 laborers died due to mudslide at the construction site, while many laborers are feared to be buried. The entire area is immersed in mourning due to this incident. This accident happened when the workers were digging a deep pit for the underground tank of a factory.
This incident took place in Jasalpur village, about 37 kilometers from the district headquarters. Here in a factory, workers were digging a pit for an underground tank, when the soil filled up and collapsed, 8 workers died in this accident. Along with this, three-four other laborers are feared to be buried under the debris. This incident has created a stir.
Fear of workers getting trapped
The families of the laborers are in bad condition and crying. Soil is being removed with the help of JCB at the incident site. This incident has raised serious questions on safety standards. After receiving information about the incident, police and rescue team reached the spot and started relief work. Difficulties are being faced in the rescue work, because there is a possibility of some more laborers getting trapped in the sunken soil.
Gave assurance of help to the affected families
Inspector Prahlad Singh Vaghela said that the bodies of 8 laborers have been recovered. The rescue operation is still going on. Mehsana SP Tarun Duggal said that this construction work was going on under the supervision of a private company. The incident is under investigation.
At the same time, the administration has assured that security measures will be implemented to avoid such incidents in future. Along with this, all possible help has also been promised to the victim’s family.
Mehsana District Development Officer (DDO) Dr Hasrat Jasmine said, “10 laborers were trapped and 8 bodies have been recovered. One person has been rescued alive and is undergoing treatment. Rescue operations are underway.
