Gujarat News: An unknown fever is wreaking havoc in Lakhpat taluka of Kutch region of Gujarat these days. Within a week, 12 people including four children have died due to this unknown fever. In view of this fever in Lakhpat taluka located near the Pakistan border, health services have been increased in the area. The health department has deployed 22 teams and doctors for monitoring the area. Health department officials have given this information. They said that prima facie the cause of death of 12 people in the area appears to be pneumonitis.
Kutch Collector Amit Arora said that the health department has been alerted in view of the deaths due to this unknown fever in the area. Doctors have been deployed in the area. Along with this, 22 teams have also been deployed to monitor this disease. This includes teams brought on deputation from two community health centers and quick response teams of Rajkot Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Medical College (PDU Medical College). Keeping in mind the possibility of swine flu, malaria, dengue and Crimean Congo fever, blood samples of the local people living here are being taken. So that this unknown disease can be identified and the children falling ill can be treated properly.
Difficulty breathing in patients
People living in Lakhpat taluka say that the patients suffering from this unknown fever were having difficulty in breathing. They were also facing problems like fever, cough and chills. The patients are showing all the symptoms like pneumonia. The district panchayat member of the area says that the doctors were not able to treat the unknown disease in time. Due to which people have died.
