Vadodara: Gujarat Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi said on Friday that the police in every district of the state before the time limit of 27 April set by the central government is asking Pakistani citizens to leave India. India announced on Thursday that all visas issued to Pakistani citizens would be canceled from April 27 due to increasing tension between the two countries after the Pahalgam terror attack. 26 people were killed on Tuesday in this attack, mostly tourists. The terrorists riddled tourists with bullets after asking their religious identity.
Medical visas will be valid only by April 29
The Ministry of External Affairs said on April 24 that all the existing valid visas issued to Pakistani citizens would be canceled from April 27, while medical visas issued to Pakistani citizens would be valid only by April 29. The ministry also said that all Pakistani citizens present in India will have to leave the country before the visa ends. In Vadodara, Sanghvi said, ‘It is the duty of every state government to implement the decisions of the central government. According to this, the Gujarat government has directed all the district police superintendents of the state to implement this order with immediate effect.
Instructions not to disturb Hindu refugees
Sanghvi said, “Since Friday morning, Pakistani visa holders in various districts are being called to the concerned police stations and they are being asked to leave India before the deadline ends.” He further stated that the Special Operations Group and the Special Branch officials of cities and districts have started the process of ensuring that Pakistani visa holders fall under the purview of this rule leave India before the time limit. The minister said, “Keeping in mind the latest notification in this regard, the district police chiefs have also been instructed not to disturb the Hindu refugees from Pakistan in this process.”
A Pakistani was sent home from Bharuch
Following the instructions of the Home Department, Bharuch district police left Saida Bibi, a resident of Karachi, Pakistan, on the Attari-Wagah border on Friday morning. Giving information about this, District Superintendent of Police Mayur Chavda said, ‘Our employees left them on the attic-wagon border this morning and have entered their country. She was the only short -term visa holder in Bharuch, to whom the rule was applicable. Apart from this, many long -term visa holders are living in Bharuch, but this rule does not apply to them. (PTI)
