Haryana Election: The nomination process for the Haryana assembly elections is over. After filing nominations in various assembly constituencies, the candidates have started a vigorous campaign. This time, an interesting contest is being seen on many seats in the Haryana elections. In such a situation, everyone’s eyes are on the Tosham assembly seat dominated by the family of former Haryana Chief Minister Bansi Lal. This time, an interesting contest is taking place between a cousin and a sister on this seat.
A battle of prestige has broken out between Shruti Chaudhary and Anirudh Chaudhary for Bansi Lal’s political legacy in Tosham seat of Bhiwani district of Haryana. The fight for this seat has become a matter of prestige for BJP and Congress as well. Bansi Lal’s family has been dominating the Tosham assembly constituency for a long time and this time too, only a person associated with the family will win this seat.
Tosham is the stronghold of Bansilal’s family
At one time, Bansi Lal was considered to have a lot of influence in Haryana politics. Tosham assembly constituency of Bhiwani district has been considered to be an area dominated by Bansi Lal’s family. After the formation of Haryana, elections have been held on this seat 14 times and Bansi Lal’s family has won this seat 12 times.
Bansi Lal, his son Surendra Singh, daughter-in-law Kiran Chaudhary have won this seat in past elections. Surendra Singh died in a helicopter crash in 2005. Kiran Chaudhary won the MLA election from this seat in the 2005 by-election. Haryana veteran Bansi Lal contested from this seat seven times and won this seat on 6 of these occasions.
Mother used her strength to ensure her daughter’s victory
After winning the seat in 2005, Kiran Chaudhary continued to receive the support of the voters. Now after joining the BJP, Kiran Chaudhary has become a member of the Rajya Sabha. This time the BJP has fielded her daughter Shruti Chaudhary in the election. In such a situation, Kiran Chaudhary has put all her strength to ensure the victory of her daughter.
Shruti Chaudhary’s father Surendra Singh and mother Kiran Chaudhary have won the MLA election three times each from Tosham seat. In such a situation, this contest has become a battle of prestige for Shruti Chaudhary, who has been an MP in the past. Former BJP MLA Shashi Ranjan Parmar has filed nomination for this seat as a rebel candidate after his ticket was cut by the party’s top leadership. Parmar’s candidature is proving to increase Shruti Chaudhary’s problems.
The battle became interesting due to the landing of the cousin
On the other hand, Congress has made the contest interesting by fielding Shruti’s cousin Aniruddh Chaudhary. Aniruddh Chaudhary is Bansi Lal’s grandson and his father Ranbir Mahindra has been the BCCI president. Aniruddh Chaudhary is also eyeing Bansi Lal’s traditional voters. Aniruddh Chaudhary has entered the electoral fray for the first time and in such a situation, wooing the voters of Tosham will prove to be a big litmus test for him.
With the candidature of Anirudh Chaudhary, the battle for the legacy of former Chief Minister Bansi Lal in Tosham has become quite fierce. All eyes are on who finally wins this seat, which is considered Bansi Lal’s stronghold.
The lack of alliance between AAP and Congress has a big impact
This time in Haryana, despite the efforts of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Congress could not form an alliance with Aam Aadmi Party. After the alliance talks broke down, Aam Aadmi Party has fielded its candidates on all 90 assembly seats of the state. The opposition of Haryana Congress leaders is being considered a major reason behind the failure of the alliance between the two parties. Actually, both former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda and state Congress President Udaybhan were not in favor of an alliance with AAP. Now AAP chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been released from Tihar Jail. In such a situation, in the coming days, he will give a boost to the campaign of AAP candidates. Political experts believe that Congress may have to suffer more losses due to AAP contesting the elections separately. However, Kejriwal’s party may also be successful in making a dent in BJP’s vote bank.
