Haryana Elections 2024: In the Haryana assembly elections, BJP has not yet announced the name of any candidate for the post of Chief Minister. At present, Nayab Singh Saini is the Chief Minister and BJP has also fielded him from Ladwa in the battle of Haryana. In such a situation, there is a possibility that if BJP comes to power in Haryana for the third time, then perhaps the central leadership will bet on Nayab Singh Saini for the post of CM, because ever since Nayab Singh Saini has been given the CM post after Manohar Lal Khattar, no differences have been seen within the party and the government in the state. Also, decisions have also been taken at the right time keeping in mind the interests of the people of the state. Whether it is the decision to give reservation in jobs to Agniveer in the state government or the decision related to farmers and women, therefore Nayab Saini seems to have an upper hand in returning to power, but before the elections, a candidate has staked his claim for the post of CM.
Anil Vij staked claim for the post of CM
Former Home Minister of the state and BJP candidate from Ambala Cantt Anil Vij on Sunday staked claim for the post of Chief Minister. Anil Vij has demanded from BJP to make him the CM. Talking to the media on Sunday, the assembly candidate from Ambala Cantt said that I am the most senior MLA of BJP in Haryana and have contested elections six times. I have never asked for anything from the party. However, on the demand of the people, this time I will claim the post of CM on the basis of my seniority.
I will change the picture of the state
Vij also said that if BJP makes me the CM of Haryana, I will change the face of the state. However, this decision is in the hands of the BJP central leadership. It is the wish of the high command whether it makes me the CM or not, but wherever I am going to election rallies, everyone is telling me that you are the most senior leader in the party, then why did you not become the CM? He said that this time on the basis of people’s demand, I will stake my claim to become the Chief Minister on the basis of my seniority.
Always stay ahead in the race
Let us tell you that Anil Vij was the Home Minister in Manohar Lal Khattar’s government. He was removed from the cabinet in the recent reshuffle. Expressing dissatisfaction over being removed from the cabinet, Vij had said that some people have made him a ‘stranger’ in his party. Vij did not attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new cabinet and left the legislature party meeting midway, which clearly reflected his dissatisfaction. In 2014, when the BJP won a majority in the 90-member Haryana Assembly for the first time, Vij was seen as the frontrunner for the post of Chief Minister, but the party chose Khattar, who became an MLA for the first time, for the post. In 2019 too, the party bet on Khattar instead of Vij. Vij had to be content with key departments like Home and Health.
status of last election
Let us tell you that voting for the 90-member assembly in Haryana will be held on October 5. Counting of votes will be done on October 8. The last date for filing nominations was September 12. In the 2019 assembly elections, BJP became the largest party with 40 seats and Congress won 30 seats.
