Danish further identified Jyoti with the Pakistani Intelligence Officer (PIO). Jyoti was further in touch with these agents on encrypted platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram and Snapchat. These included the names of Ali Ahsan and Shakir alias Rana Shahbaz, whose number Jyoti had saved on her phone as Jatt Randhawa. Jyoti’s job was to present Pakistan’s positive image on social media and share sensitive information to Pakistan. According to the police, Jyoti also had close ties with a Pio, with which she went to visit Bali. Jyoti was also in touch with the Pakistani intelligence agency.
Case filed against Jyoti
In this case, a case has been registered against Jyoti Malhotra under sections 152 of the Indian Justice (BNS) and sections 3, 4 and 5 of the official Secrets Act, 1923. Along with this, a written confession of Jyoti was also recorded. At present, the investigation of the case has been handed over to the Economic Offenses Branch Hisar.
