Heavy rains and floods have worsened the condition of Gujarat
Due to continuous rain since last Monday, flood like situation prevailed in Vadodara on Tuesday as well, due to which severe waterlogging was seen in many areas of the city. According to IMD, 26 cm of rain was recorded in Vadodara on last Monday. Residential areas got waterlogged due to the overflowing of Vishwamitri river in Vadodara. People had to wade through knee-deep water. Due to waterlogging, there was also traffic problem in many areas of the city. Due to heavy rains, water was released from Ajwa reservoir and Pratappura reservoir into Vishwamitri river, which caused waterlogging.
It has been raining continuously for three days
It has been raining continuously for the last three days in Malpur area of Gujarat. Locals say that it has become difficult to walk on the roads. Apart from this, the Kashi Vishwanath Mahadev temple complex in Vadodara was submerged due to heavy rains and the temple complex was closed on Tuesday. People said that they had never seen so much rain in the last 30 years.

Continuous heavy rains led to heavy waterlogging at the Mahatma Mandir underbridge in Sector 13, Gandhinagar. After the water receded, vehicle number plates were seen scattered in the area.

At the same time, heavy waterlogging was seen in Akota area of Vadodara even today due to rain.
Meanwhile, slums in Akota were inundated following incessant heavy rains in the city.
Following the rains, waterlogging was witnessed in some parts of Morbi, following which the gates of the Machhu dam were also opened.
