Rajasthan has been hit by a lot of troubles. After the heavy rains, the problems of the people have increased manifold. After the rains, the traffic jams and life have been disrupted. Due to the heavy rains in the last few days in the districts including Baran city of Rajasthan, 785 km long roads have been damaged a lot.
Whereas, 187 roads and 50 culverts have been damaged in the district. Due to the rains, the condition of the roads has become very bad and because of the deep potholes, it is becoming difficult for the drivers to pass through here. D K Kshatriya, Superintending Engineer of the Public Works Department, told that a budget of Rs 508 lakh has been sought by the PWD for the repair of 187 damaged roads and Rs 32.55 crore for the culverts.
Besides, proposals worth Rs 78.86 crore have been prepared for strengthening 272 roads that are not repairable and have been submitted to the collector, from where the proposals have been sent to the disaster management, relief and civil defence department, from where repair and construction works will be carried out after receiving the budget.
Mr. Kshatriya of the PWD department said that a total of 187 roads of 758 km length in the district have been damaged during the rains. Proposals worth Rs 508 lakh have been prepared for their repair. Also, proposals worth Rs 32.55 crore have been prepared and sent for the permanent repair of 50 culverts.
There are 272 such roads which are not worth repairing. A total budget of about Rs 78.86 crore has been sought for their strengthening. Proposals for all the works have been prepared and sent to Collector Rohitashv Singh Tomar.
He said that the proposals have been sent to the Disaster Management, Relief and Civil Defence Department, where repair and construction work will be done after getting the budget. This will provide relief to the passersby.
