Bilaspur police of Himachal Pradesh has arrested two men. This includes the son of a Congress leader. The reason is that 45.60 grams of chitta was found. Chitta is a substance similar to adulterated heroin. Due to the arrest of his son in this incident, Congress leader Jagir Singh Mehta has resigned from his post. He also gave the reason for this in his resignation letter. He was the president of Ghumarvi block till now.
Both the accused were caught like this
Police said that both the accused were coming from Punjab in a taxi. Both the accused were arrested during vehicle checking on Kiratpur-Nerchowk four lane. This area falls in Garagoda of Swarghat area. Police was checking the vehicles coming and going in this area by putting up barricades. Bilaspur ASP Shiv Chaudhary said that during the investigation, 45.60 grams of chitta was recovered from the vehicle. Chitta is a substance like adulterated heroin.
Father resigned after his son was arrested
Police said that both of them were being searched for a long time. Police said that both the accused have been identified as Anil Kumar and Gaurav Sharma. Both are residents of Ghumarvi in Bilaspur. After the arrest, Jagir Singh Mehta, father of one of the accused, has resigned from the post of Congress. Mehta has resigned from the post of President of Ghumarvi Block.
Mehta gave this reason for his resignation
A case has been registered against both the accused under the sections of the NDPS Act. Cases related to drugs and narcotics are dealt with under this Act. Mehta also gave the reason for his resignation while resigning. He said in his resignation letter that I am resigning from my post while performing my moral duty because my son has been caught doing wrong.
