Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPCL) will construct three big hydro projects in the state. The construction of these hydro projects will generate 2680 MW of electricity. This decision was taken in the cabinet meeting held on Friday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. The three hydro projects which the Sukhu government of the state has handed over to HPCL include 780 MW Jangi Thopan Hydro Project, 1630 MW Renukaji and 270 MW Thana Plaun Pump Storage Hydro Project. Earlier, only Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam used to construct big hydro projects in the state.
Approval to fill 180 posts in various departments
The Cabinet has decided to fill 100 vacant posts of Assistant Forest Guards in the Forest Department. Approval was given to fill 33 posts of various categories in the Printing and Stationery Department. Approval was also given to open a new police station at Sissu in Lahaul-Spiti district and to create and fill 18 posts of various categories for its operation and to create and fill six posts of various categories for the new police post at Hathli in Chamba district.
The Cabinet decided to fill two posts of Deputy Superintendent of Police, one post of Drug Distributor in District Jail Mandi, one post of Assistant Director (Biology & Serology) and three posts of Laboratory Assistant (Chemistry & Toxicology) in the Home Department. Besides, it was also decided to fill 10 posts of various categories in the office of Advocate General, Himachal Pradesh.
In the meeting, approval was given to creation and filling of six posts of Medical Officers (Dental) for ESI Medical Institutions at Shoghi in District Shimla and Kasauli, Jabli, Barotiwala, Nalagarh and Baddi in District Solan. The Cabinet approved to provide six mobile forensic vans to the Forensic Services Department to enhance operational capacity.
Critical care blocks will be opened in Dehra and Paonta Sahib hospitals
The Cabinet approved setting up of 50-bed Critical Care Blocks in Civil Hospital Dehra in District Kangra and Civil Hospital Paonta Sahib in District Sirmaur to provide modern healthcare services to the people. Approval was also given to establish the offices of Superintending Engineer and Block Medical Officer of Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited at Dehra.
The Cabinet approved the formation of a Cabinet Sub-Committee to provide recommendations for strengthening of Rogi Kalyan Samitis under the chairmanship of Health Minister Dr. (Colonel) Dhani Ram Shandil. Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Aniruddha Singh, Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani and AYUSH Minister Yadavendra Goma will be members of this sub-committee.
The Cabinet has authorized the Himachal Pradesh State Selection Commission to declare the results of post codes 903 and 939. In view of the final result of the investigation and court proceedings, five posts under post code 903 and six posts under post code 939 have been kept vacant.
The meeting also approved upgrading the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) in Solan as the apex institute for school and teacher training at the state level. Its aim is to promote educational research and improve the quality of education. Apart from this, it was decided to strengthen 12 District Institutes of Education and Training (DIET) to bring more quality in the working style of teachers.
The Cabinet decided to extend the Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar Loan Scheme with the objective of benefiting meritorious students. Under this, it was also decided to extend the benefit of this scheme to eligible meritorious students willing to pursue professional and vocational courses in educational institutions abroad. Under this scheme, the state government provides educational loan at an interest rate of one percent.
