Himachal Weather Report: 155 roads closed due to landslides after rain in Himachal, power outage in tribal areas

The traffic system has collapsed due to the blockage of many roads in Shimla, Mandi and Kangra districts due to landslides. At the same time, there is a blackout situation in the tribal districts of Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti due to rain and snowfall.

Torrential rains in Himachal Pradesh have once again increased the troubles of the people. The traffic system has collapsed due to the blockage of many roads in Shimla, Mandi and Kangra districts due to landslides. At the same time, there is a blackout situation due to rain and snowfall in the tribal districts of Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti. The good news is that the sequence of rain and snowfall has stopped in the state for the time being.

The capital Shimla and other cities saw sunshine on Saturday. The weather department has ruled out the possibility of heavy rains in the next six days due to the weakening of the monsoon. At present, no alert has been issued regarding rain in the state till September 20.

According to the report of the State Emergency Operation Center, one national highway and 155 roads are blocked in the state due to landslides. National Highway-5 near Maling Nala in Kinnaur district is completely blocked. Vehicle movement has come to a halt on 94 roads in Shimla district. 61 roads are closed in Jubbal subdivision alone, while 16 in Rohru and 13 in Kotkhai. 46 roads are blocked in Mandi district, 10 in Kangra, three in Kullu and one in Sirmaur. 383 electricity transformers have been damaged due to rain and snowfall in the state. There is a blackout in many villages of tribal districts Kinnaur and Lahaul Spiti. 139 transformers in Kinnaur and 124 in Spiti subdivision of Lahaul-Spiti are closed. Electricity is out due to the closure of 103 transformers in Mandi district, 13 in Kullu and four in Chamba.

It rained in these places

According to the Meteorological Department, Katuala received the highest rainfall of 79 mm during the last 24 hours. Apart from this, 68 mm rainfall was recorded in Palampur, 60 mm in Baijnath, 59 mm in Mandi, 56 mm in Guler, 53 mm in Dharamshala, 52 mm in Kufri, 50 mm each in Shimla and Joginder Nagar, 49 mm in Naina Devi, 47 mm in Kangra and 46 mm in Nagarota Suriyan.

Kukumseri is the coldest place in Lahaul-Spiti

Temperatures have dropped due to snowfall in the high mountainous regions of the state. This has increased the effect of cold. In the last 24 hours, the average minimum temperature of the state has dropped by 0.6 degrees. Kukumseri in Lahaul-Spiti district was the coldest place, where the minimum temperature was recorded at 7.9 degrees Celsius. Apart from this, the temperature was 8 degrees in Tabo, 8.8 degrees in Keylong, 10.9 degrees in Samdho, 12.8 degrees in Dalhousie and Shimla, 14.1 degrees in Bharmour, 15.1 degrees in Manali and 16 degrees Celsius in Sarahan.
