Monsoon activity continues to rain in Himachal Pradesh for the second consecutive day on Friday. It is raining in Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Kangra, Una and Mandi districts since morning. Life is disrupted due to incidents of landslides due to continuous rains.

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain in the plains and central mountainous areas till this evening. The department has expressed the possibility of heavy rainfall in Solan, Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Sirmaur districts. People of these districts have been instructed to take precautions. It has been advised to stay away from rivers and streams and not to travel to landslide prone areas. The weather is likely to remain bad on 28th and 29th September also. However, there will be no yellow alert during this period. The weather will be completely clear from September 30 to October 3. Monsoon is likely to depart from the state in the first week of October.

According to the report of the State Emergency Operation Center, as of Friday morning, 47 roads including a national highway are closed due to landslides in the state. National Highway-707 near Staun in Sirmaur district has been blocked for two days. Paonta Sahib sub-division of Sirmaur district is most affected by rain. 25 roads are closed due to landslides in the district. 10 roads are closed in Kangra district, eight in Mandi, two in Kullu, one each in Shimla and Kinnaur. Apart from this, power supply has been affected due to failure of 156 transformers in various districts of the state. 63 transformers are stalled in Mandi district, 38 in Kullu, 30 in Paonta Sahib of Sirmaur and 25 in Teesa of Chamba.

It rained at these places

According to Meteorological Center Shimla, from Thursday evening to Friday morning, Jogindernagar in Mandi district received maximum rainfall of 80 mm. Apart from this, 79 mm rainfall was recorded in Palampur and 65 in Baijnath of Kangra district, 51 in Paonta Sahib of Sirmaur district, 50 in Shimla, 27 in Dehra Gopipur, 26 in Dhaula Kuan, 25 in Gohar, 25-25 mm in Dharampur and Kasauli. .

Light cold in hill stations, pleasant weather in plains

The temperature has dropped due to heavy rains in the state. This has provided relief to the people of the plains who are scorching due to the scorching heat. At the same time, the weather has become slightly cold in the hill stations. The minimum mercury on Friday was 14.8 degrees in Shimla, 19.6 degrees in Sundernagar, 19.2 degrees in Bhuntar, 11.2 degrees in Kalpa, 22.4 degrees in Una, 21.2 degrees in Nahan, 9.8 degrees in Keylong, 16.2 degrees in Palampur, 18.4 degrees in Solan, Manali. It was 14.9 degrees Celsius in Kangra, 20.4 degrees in Mandi, 23.3 degrees in Bilaspur, 13.3 degrees in Dalhousie and 22.5 degrees in Chamba.
