In Bihar, employment-oriented and quality education is the priority of the government and big claims are also made for this. Especially in view of the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, jobs and employment have become big issues. Meanwhile, the pictures of the government education system emerging from many districts of the state are not only shocking but also worrying. There is a school in Motihari where there is only one teacher to teach one thousand students.
The matter is of Dhaka High School. For the last many years, Plus Two education has been going on. Arts, Science and Commerce are taught in Plus Two. There is only one teacher in these three faculties, that too of Economics. From this, it can be guessed how the students must be studying other subjects. The department has also issued instructions to take exams every month in Plus Two. In such a situation, when the children are not able to study, then how will they give the exams.

Earlier there were five other employed teachers in Plus Two but they left from here because they got selected in the regular teacher recruitment conducted by BPSC. Since then no teacher has been posted here. Recently a guest teacher has been appointed for science, whose salary has been decided to be paid from the school development fund. The financial burden of which will fall on the school. Headmaster Rita Kumari says that the teachers for class nine and ten are the ones who manage the work in Plus Two.
There are no teachers for many subjects in class nine and ten
In Uchcha Madhyamik Vidyalay, Dhaka, not only is the Plus Two education dependent on a single teacher, but there are also many subjects in class 9 and 10 for which there is not a single teacher. There are 850 students enrolled in class 9 and 1700 in class 10. 14 teachers are posted for this. But there is not a single teacher for Sanskrit, Physics and Chemistry. The two Maths teachers and one Science teacher are the ones who teach the other Science subjects and also run the lab. HM Rita Kumari told that a report was sought from the district regarding the shortage of teachers.
Libraries have not been established in most of the upgraded secondary schools of Areraj in the district. There are libraries in some places but there is a severe shortage of books. One UHS has been established in all the panchayats of Areraj block area in the year 2020. These schools are also being run but there is no such thing as a library in these schools. Many HMs including Triloki Tiwari, HM of UHS Radhiya, Mujiburrahman of Nagdaha told that no amount has been made available at the departmental level so far for the establishment of the library and purchase of books.
There is no provision of funds for the library in middle schools at the departmental level. Headmaster Madan Mohan Nath Tiwari of Government Upgraded Middle School Bhelanari says that with the help of people, he has established a library in his school where books, newspapers and magazines have been collected for children to read. Children regularly study in this library.
Manoj Kumar Shukla, Principal Teacher of Pandit Jawahar Lal Memorial Higher Secondary School, Sirni, says that I have a library here but during his tenure no funds have been provided to enrich the library.
