Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah addressed the Pichda Varg Samman Sammelan held in Mahendragarh, Haryana on Tuesday. During this, he strongly attacked the ‘Hisab Maange Haryana’ campaign of former Haryana Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupendra Singh Hooda. Shah said that he always has the account of his 10 years but first he has to give account of the corruption that happened during his tenure. Amit Shah said that he is the son of a ‘Baniya’ (business community) and he keeps a close watch on every penny.
Shah alleged that the previous governments of Haryana did not give anything to the state in the name of development. They should give account of corruption in jobs, spreading casteism, injustice to other backward class society and nepotism. He said, “Hooda sahab, I have come here with an account, what account will you ask for? I challenge you to go among the people with a portfolio of our 10 years of work and the 10 years of Congress work. I am a son of a baniya, I keep account of every penny.”
Let us tell you that on July 11, Leader of Opposition in Haryana Assembly Bhupendra Singh Hooda has started a campaign to highlight the alleged shortcomings of the BJP-led state government. He also wants to understand the mindset and expectations of the people through feedback. This campaign has been named Hisaab Maange Haryana. Shah was giving his reaction on the same. Haryana Assembly elections are to be held after a few months.
Shah said that the land of Haryana is famous for three things in the whole country. Most of the soldiers in the army are from Haryana, most of the sportspersons are from Haryana and most of the food grains are produced in the country. He said that the Haryana Cabinet has taken three important decisions. Under this, it has been decided to increase the limit of creamy layer from Rs. 6 lakh to Rs. 8 lakh, in which salary and agricultural income will not be counted. Along with this, provision of 8 percent reservation for Group A in Panchayats as well as 5 percent reservation for Group B has been made. Similarly, in Nagar Palikas also, provision of 8 percent reservation for Group A as well as 5 percent reservation for Group B has been made.
The Union Home Minister said that his party has given the country its first strong Prime Minister who comes from the backward class and 27 out of 71 ministers in his cabinet are from the backward class, out of which 2 ministers are from Haryana. He said that when Kaka Kalelkar Commission was formed for OBC reservation in 1957, it was not allowed to be implemented for many years. He said that in 1980 the then Prime Minister shelved the Mandal Commission and when it was brought in 1990, the then Prime Minister opposed it.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given constitutional rights to the entire backward society by giving constitutional recognition to the OBC Commission. This government has given 27 percent reservation for the first time in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Navodaya Vidyalaya, Sainik School and NEET examinations. Modi’s government has also taken a historic decision by increasing the limit of creamy layer and excluding agriculture and salaried income from it.
