I was ridiculed a lot, but I remained silent: What did PM Modi tell as the reason

While presenting the account of the first 100 days of his third term before the public, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that during this period he was made fun of and insulted a lot. PM Modi said that he was continuously working to achieve his goal and because of this he silently tolerated everything. He was speaking at a program organized for the launch and inauguration of various development schemes in Ahmedabad.

PM Modi said that after 60 years, the people of the country have created a new history. They have given a government the opportunity to serve the country for the third time in a row. This is a very big event in Indian democracy. He said, ‘During the elections, I had guaranteed that unprecedented decisions will be taken for the country in the first 100 days of the third term. In the last 100 days, I have neither seen the day nor the night. I have put in all my efforts to complete the agenda of 100 days. Whatever efforts were to be made, whether in the country or abroad, I have done them. I have left no stone unturned.’

PM Modi accused the opposition of making fun of him and said that he was busy with his work and therefore kept quiet. PM Modi said, ‘You must have seen the kind of things that were said in the last 100 days. They started making fun of me. They started mocking Modi. They kept giving different arguments and kept having fun. People were also surprised why Modi was silent. So much of mockery was happening, so much insult was happening.

Modi further said, ‘My brothers and sisters of Gujarat, this is a son born on the land of Sardar Patel. Bearing every joke, every mockery, every insult, I took a vow to make policies and take decisions for your welfare for 100 days. I had decided that those who have been mocked as much as they want, let them also have fun, take it, take it. I had decided that I will not give a single reply. No matter how much jokes and laughter happen on the path that I have to walk for the welfare of the country, I will not deviate from my path. I am happy that by digesting all the insults, I have ensured the guarantee of welfare of every family, every section of the country in 100 days. In these 100 days, work started on schemes worth more than 15 lakh crores.’

PM Modi said that work is being done at a fast pace on the scheme of providing houses to 3 crore families. The guarantee of free treatment up to Rs 5 lakhs to all the elderly above 70 years of age has been fulfilled. In these 100 days, big decisions were taken for the jobs and employment of the youth. A special PM package of Rs 2 lakh crores was announced for the youth. More than 4 crore youth will benefit from this. Now the government will also pay the first salary of the first job in the companies. In the first 100 days of the third term, 11 lakh new Lakhpati Didis have become in the entire country including Gujarat.
