Jamui New DM Abhilasha Sharma: For the first time in Jamui, Bihar, a woman IAS officer will take charge as District Collector. So far, 24 District Magistrates have served in Jamui. This is the first time that a woman IAS officer will take charge of this district as the 25th District Magistrate. It is noteworthy that Abhilasha Sharma, a woman IAS officer of the 2017 batch of the Indian Administrative Service, can take charge as the District Collector of Jamui today (Tuesday). The General Administration Department has also issued a notification in this regard. IAS Abhilasha Sharma was till now handling the charge of Gaya Municipal Commissioner. During her tenure, IAS Abhilasha Sharma did tremendous work under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in Gaya. IAS Abhilasha Sharma is considered to be a very sharp officer.

Who is IAS Abhilasha Sharma

Abhilasha Sharma (IAS), a resident of Sector 12, Old Delhi Road, Gurugram (Haryana), secured 68th rank in UPSC in the year 2017. She had decided to become an IAS while studying engineering. She worked hard to succeed in the Civil Services Examination. Abhilasha Sharma’s journey has been full of struggle. Abhilasha Sharma started preparing for UPSC in the year 2013. In the first three attempts, she failed in the prelims exam every time. But still she did not lose courage and on the basis of hard work, she finally cracked UPSC in the fourth attempt.

In-laws supported

Abhilasha Sharma got married to Ankit while preparing for the civil service examination. Her husband Ankit is a businessman by profession. She is preparing for UPSC even after marriage. Seeing the hard work of Abhilasha Sharma, her husband and in-laws also supported her wholeheartedly. After which Abhilasha Sharma waved the flag of success in the fourth attempt in the civil service examination and started her administrative career.
