IAS Radha Raturi: The Central Government has once again given six months extension to Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi. The tenure of Chief Secretary Radha Raturi was ending on 30th September i.e. two days later. Earlier on Saturday, the Central Government has given six months’ service extension to Radha Raturi. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has also issued orders in this regard. Radha Raturi will now hold the charge of the post of Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand till 31 March 2025. It is noteworthy that even before this, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi had been given a service extension of six months.
Who is IAS Radha Raturi?
Radha Raturi is a 1988 batch IAS officer. IAS Radha Raturi is counted among the honest officers. She has handled the responsibilities of many important departments in Uttarakhand. Before becoming Chief Secretary, she was looking after the post of Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. IAS Radha Raturi is the first woman Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand. Radha Raturi is also the 18th Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand state. Radha Raturi is originally from Madhya Pradesh. IAS Radha Raturi did BA Hons in History from Bombay University. After this, he did MA in Public Personnel Management and Diploma course in Mass Communication from Osmania University, Hyderabad. Radha Raturi, who was bright in studies, won gold medals in all three examinations.
After this he started preparing for the Civil Services Examination. Radha Raturi, a prodigious talent, passed three All India Services. In the year 1986, Radha Raturi passed the Indian Information Service. After this he again took the Civil Services Examination and passed the Indian Police Service in the year 1987. But he wanted to go into administrative service. Therefore, he once again cracked the UPSC examination and Indian Administrative Service in the year 1988 with full dedication and devotion. Radha Raturi has long experience in the process of conducting elections in Uttarakhand. She has held the charge of Chief Electoral Officer in Uttarakhand for ten years. Radha Raturi was made the new Chief Secretary after the extension of service of Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, who was earlier the Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand, ended.
Married to IPS Anil Raturi
After passing the UPSC exam, Radha Raturi met Uttarakhand IPS officer Anil Raturi during her training. After this both of them got married. Her husband Anil Raturi has held the post of Director General of Police in Uttarakhand for three and a half years.
