Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav has reiterated the promise of giving 200 units of free electricity if the Mahagathbandhan government is formed in the state. The manifesto released by RJD during the Lok Sabha elections in the name of Parivartan Patra also included the promise of 200 units of free electricity. After completing the Karyakarta Aabhar Yatra in Samastipur, Tejashwi said in a conversation with the media that the most expensive electricity in the country is available in Bihar. Tejashwi has also raised the issue of prepaid smart meters for electricity, regarding which there are reports of protests and demonstrations from many places in the state.
Tejashwi told reporters in Samastipur that wherever he is going in Bihar, people are troubled by the expensive electricity bills. Especially people are very troubled by the prepaid meters. He said that the most expensive electricity in the country is available in Bihar. He said that we want to create a new Bihar and take Bihar forward with new thinking. Tejashwi reiterated the promise of the Lok Sabha election manifesto and said that if our government is formed, we will provide 200 units of electricity free of cost to the people of Bihar. Tejashwi also raised the question of irregularities in electricity bills.
Tejashwi Yadav reached Samastipur on 10 September on an eight-day Karyakarta Aabhaar Yatra. Here for two days, he met and talked to workers from five assembly seats on different days. Tejashwi will now stay in Darbhanga for the next two days, then in Madhubani for two days and then finally in Muzaffarpur for two days. In the program of both the days at each place, the program of interaction with the workers is fixed according to the assembly seats. The first phase of this journey will be completed in Muzaffarpur on 17 September. After this, there is talk of Tejashwi going to Dubai with his family.
