Gujarat Day 2025
The construction of the western state of Gujarat has completed 65 years. The state of Gujarat was established on 1 May 1960. On this day the state of Bombay was divided into two states (Gujarat and Maharashtra). Since then, both states contributed significantly to the economic and cultural development of the country. When India became an independent country in 1947, Bombay was a separate state in western India. In the 1950s, the United Maharashtra Committee sought to build a Marathi -speaking state separate from the then bilingual state of Bombay, and in 1960, on this day, two historical states as Gujarat and Maharashtra emerged in the history of the country.
Located in western India, Gujarat is known for its rich culture, heritage and traditions. This state is the center of attraction for some of the most important historical sites and tourists in India. Sabarmati Ashram, Kutch’s Rann and the last natural habitat of Asian lions are included in the first choice of tourists.
