In Chhattisgarh, prisoners being taken back to jail after hearing threw chilli powder in the eyes of the police personnel. After this, they opened the lock and escaped.

Prisoners escaped by dodging the police personnel in Bastar district of Chhattisgarh. This incident happened when they were being taken back to jail after being produced in the court. To escape from the police custody, the prisoners resorted to chilli powder. After spraying the powder in the eyes, they escaped by opening the lock of the car. After this, the police launched a crackdown campaign. Police caught one of the accused who carried out the incident while the search for the other is still on.
The prisoners were being taken to Jagdalpur jail after being produced in Dantewada court. Meanwhile, near Parapa police station, both the prisoners committed the chilli powder incident. One of the escaped prisoners is named Sameer Khan and the other is named Anas Khan. Both of them are residents of Dantewada district. Bastar district police had arrested them for stealing a bike and sent them to jail.
Police officials say that when the vehicle reached near Parapa police station, the speed had slowed down a bit. Taking advantage of this, the thieves threw chilli powder in the eyes of the police personnel. After this, both of them escaped by opening the lock of the car door. The personnel informed the police station and police officials about this. The police blocked different areas of the district. After some time, the personnel of Bodhghat police station caught an accused Samir near the farm. The other accused Anas has escaped. The police officers have also informed the nearby police stations.
