On Thursday, in Mahidpur of Ujjain district in Madhya Pradesh, Tehsildar Irshad Khan was attacked and injured by two youths while on duty. This incident happened when he asked to stop the loud DJ playing at the fair. The DJ owner got angry at this and attacked him with a stick. Due to this, the Tehsildar got seriously injured on the head and he had to be taken to the community health center of Jharda in a serious condition, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
This incident happened in Rupakhedi village of Mahidpur, 65 km away from Ujjain district. Where a procession was being taken out in Baba Ramdev’s fair on Thursday. In which the DJ sound person was playing songs at a high volume. Coincidentally, the program of the local MLA was also going on in the fair at the same time. In such a situation, the Tehsildar asked the DJ through the mike to turn down the sound, but he did not agree.
After this, the Tehsildar along with the Patwari went to convince him to stop the DJ for a while while the MLA’s program was going on. At that time two boys were sitting in the DJ sound vehicle. One of them hit the Tehsildar on the head with a stick or iron rod, due to which the Tehsildar got injured. He was caught and made to sit in his vehicle and taken to the community hospital for treatment. Where he got three stitches on his head. The doctors have referred him to Ujjain and also asked him to get an MRI done.
Tehsildar Irshad Khan says that one of the two people sitting on the DJ sound vehicle attacked me with an iron rod or a stick. Everything happened so quickly that I could not understand what was used to attack me. The Tehsildar accused the police station in-charge and said that the police station in-charge had even caught a boy but later released him.
While giving information about this, ASP Nitesh Bhargava said, ‘Playing DJ is banned. Despite this, DJ was being played. The DJ of the person who attacked the Tehsildar has been confiscated. The accused are residents of Chikli village and both are brothers. A case has been registered against both of them. Both the accused DJ operators Dheeraj and Vinod have been arrested and brought to Mahidpur police station.’
According to the police, two anti-social elements attacked the Mahidpur deputy tehsildar Mohammed Irshad in an attempt to murder him over the issue of stopping the DJ in the village under the Jharda police station area. On this, the Jharda police arrested both the accused, Vinod, son of Nain Singh and Dheeraj, son of Nain Singh, and registered a case against them under the crime number 195/2024 under sections 109,132,121(1),221,3(5) BNS and MP Noise Act. The DJ was also seized from the accused.
