An incident of stone pelting by miscreants on Vande Bharat Express train has come to light in Una district of Himachal Pradesh. The incident occurred when the train was going from Amb-Andaura station to New Delhi. Four coaches of Vande Bharat train were damaged in this attack. It is fortunate that no passenger was injured in this attack. Stone pelting took place near Basal village at around 1.15 pm on Saturday.
Unidentified people broke the glass windows of the coaches. During the attack, the passengers sitting in the train hid under the seats to protect themselves. There is information about damage to four coaches of the train, E-1, E-2, C-7 and C-10. Police have registered a case against unknown attackers. Railway police officials said the damage caused to the train was being assessed. Efforts are being made to arrest the culprits.
Immediately after the attack, the loco pilot informed the matter to Ambala Division, after which Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Una Railway Police reached the spot and started investigation. Police and RPF teams went to the villages surrounding the incident site and interrogated people. Till now no clue has been found about the stone pelters. Railway Police is taking this matter seriously and trying to find out the reason behind the incident.
Strict measures are being taken for security reasons. It is noteworthy that Vande Bharat train runs six days a week. It is one of the fastest trains in the country. Despite the incident, passengers were able to continue their journey without any hindrance. In this attack, the glass panes of two coaches were broken and two other coaches were marked. Recently, Ayodhya-Delhi Vande Bharat train was stopped for about three hours due to collision with cattle near Etawah.
