The number of dengue patients is constantly increasing in Bihar. In the last 24 hours, 82 new patients have been found in the state. Out of which the maximum 32 patients have been found in the capital Patna. Apart from this, 9 new dengue patients have been found in Aurangabad, 7 in Gaya, 5 in Muzaffarpur, 4 in Nalanda, 3 in Nawada, 3 in Begusarai, 2 each in Buxar, Darbhanga, East Champaran, Sitamarhi. One new dengue patient has been found in Arwal, Bhagalpur, Jehanabad, Khagaria, Madhepura, Saran, Supaul and West Champaran. From January 1 to September 9, a total of 1128 people have been affected by dengue in various districts of the state. Of this, the maximum 538 patients have been found in Patna.
In view of the increasing number of dengue patients in the state, the health department has alerted all the districts. Instructions were given to keep beds reserved for dengue patients in all types of hospitals including medical college hospital, district hospital. Alert was also given regarding monkeypox. On Tuesday, Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department Pratyaya Amrit held a video conference with the senior officials of the department along with the superintendents and civil surgeons of all medical college hospitals.
The Additional Chief Secretary said that in any case, 30 beds should be kept reserved in each medical college hospital. 5 beds in each district hospital and 2 beds each in PHC and CHC should be kept reserved for dengue patients. Let us tell you that six patients have died of dengue in Patna district within the last 10 days. On Monday, a 17-year-old teenager named Sanjeet Kumar of Sigauri police station area of Paliganj died of dengue. Earlier, a case of death of a woman had come to light.
