In fact, the local people had boycotted the voting demanding inclusion of Samarvta village in Uniara tehsil instead of Deoli. At the same time, Naresh Meena was supporting the villagers. Around 60 two-wheelers and 18 four-wheelers were burnt in the violence that broke out outside the polling station.
Police personnel tried to remove Meena and his supporters who were sitting on a dharna in Samravata village of Deoli-Uniara assembly constituency. The incident led to tension in the area, with vehicles being set on fire, stones pelted at police and 60 people arrested.
