This shocking information about Mumbai has been given in the interim report of a study by Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). The team of researchers studied around 3,000 immigrants, but the interim report has been submitted ahead of the state assembly elections with a sample of only 300.

The report said that these infiltrators are mostly concentrated in areas like Dharavi, Govandi, Mankhurd, Mahim West, Ambedkar Nagar.

The study conducted by TISS Pro-Vice-Chancellor Shankar Das and Assistant Professor Souvik Mandal was presented during a conference with JNU Vice-Chancellor Shantisree Pandit as the chief guest. Because there is no way a researcher can tell with certainty whether a migrant living in Mumbai is a Bangladeshi or a Rohingya.”
