Jharkhand Election 2024: The bugle of Jharkhand assembly elections has been sounded. Following the instructions of the Election Commission, on Saturday, Jharkhand DGP Anurag Gupta has been immediately removed and IPS Ajay Kumar Singh has been appointed as the new DGP. The Home, Jail and Disaster Management Department has issued a notification regarding this. Let us tell you that voting for the 81-member assembly of the state will be held in two phases on 13th and 20th November, while the counting of votes will take place on 23rd November.
The Election Commission had directed to remove Jharkhand’s acting DGP Anurag Gupta with immediate effect and asked to appoint a new senior officer of the same rank in his place. Along with this, the report had to be sent to the Election Commission by 7 pm. Regarding this, the state government has appointed senior IPS Ajay Kumar Singh of 1989 batch as the new Director General of Police.

Let us tell you that Anurag Gupta is a 1990 batch senior IPS officer. He was appointed as acting DGP in the month of July itself. Now they have been removed.
Who is Ajay Kumar Singh?
Let us tell you that Ajay Kumar Singh is a 1989 batch IPS officer. His first posting as ASP in Ramgarh, Jharkhand was in 1991. He has served as SP in many districts of Bihar including Muzaffarpur, Purnia and Munger. He has also worked in CID and Special Branch in the rank of ADG. He has also held the post of MD of Police Housing. He is of very gentle and calm nature. His specialty is that he does homework before doing any work.
