Karnataka News: The Congress government led by Siddaramaiah in Karnataka is now caught in a new controversy. The opposition has started to surround the state government after informing about the salary and meeting fee of the implementation panel of Guarantee Scheme on Tuesday in the Assembly. The BJP has alleged that four thousand Congress workers have been appointed to monitor the implementation of the guarantee scheme.
The party says that a budget of Rs 60 crore has also been allocated annually to give salary to these workers. However, the size of this budget has not yet been revealed by the government. The BJP has launched a scathing attack on the Congress government, questioning the government treasury giving salary to Congress workers.
Congress workers salary from government treasury
The party’s five guarantee schemes were considered a major role in the Congress victory in the Karnataka assembly elections. For the implementation of these guarantee schemes by the government, an allocation of 52 thousand crore rupees has been made in the budget, about which the opposition is already an attacker. Now controversy has arisen over another step of the government. Political battle has started after the state government has informed about the salary of the implementation panel of guarantee schemes.
The BJP alleges that more than four thousand Congress workers have been appointed in the implementation panel and they will be given money from the government treasury. The party has described it as misuse of the government treasury and described it as a sorrowful attempt to fulfill the political motive. The BJP alleges that Congress workers are being rewarded with the money of taxpayers of Karnataka.
State government set 38 panels
In fact, 38 panels have been set up by the state government to make the implementation of guarantee schemes announced by the Congress easier. Those involved in the panel have been entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring the implementation. Each panel will have one chairman and five vice presidents. Apart from these, 31 members and one member secretary will also join the panel.
The chairman of the panel will be given a cabinet rank while the vice president will get the status of Junior Minister. Offices at the state, district and taluka levels will also be allotted for the members of the panel.
Controversy over salary and meeting fees
Controversy has arisen on the issue of giving salary from government treasures to the people involved in the panel. Panel presidents will be given a monthly salary of Rs 40,000 by the state government. A salary of 10,000 to the vice presidents and 25,000 to the presidents at the taluka level has been fixed. Apart from this, it has been decided to pay a fee to the members for the meeting.
Rs 1200 per meeting at the district level and Rs 1100 per meeting at the taluka level. Controversy has arisen over the salary of the people involved in the panel as the BJP has alleged that Congress workers have been appointed in the panel and they will be given money from the government treasury.
Opposition attackers on Shivkumar’s statement
A statement by the state deputy CM and senior Congress leader DK Shivkumar has poured fuel into the fire. Shivkumar defended Congress workers and said that he has been entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring the implementation of guarantee schemes. After his statement, the anger of the opposition erupted and the members of the BJP and JD (S) reached the House. He questioned the role of Congress workers in the implementation of public welfare schemes.
Leader of the Opposition R Ashok asked if the state MLAs and officers are not able to monitor these schemes? He alleged that the money of the state treasury is being spent on the fun of Congress workers. After the opposition’s uproar, Shivkumar was seen controlling damage.
He said that the demand of the opposition will be considered in the cabinet meeting. He said that Congress workers will be included as members in the panel but the appointment of local MLAs will be considered as chief. By the way, there is no possibility of stopping the uproar on this matter.
