The government is preparing to approach the court for recovery of Rs 950 crore of fodder scam. In this way, before the assembly elections in Bihar, the genie of the 30 -year -old fodder scam has come out once again. This step will increase trouble for the Rashtriya Janata Dal, which is preparing to contest elections against the NDA, because there is a possibility of heating up politics.
Genie of fodder scam came out again
Assembly elections are proposed in Bihar in October-November this year, but before that the 30-year-old fodder scam has once again come into the limelight. Actually Lalu Prasad Yadav is convicted in five cases of fodder scam. Apart from Lalu Yadav, the neck of many other leaders and officers is also stuck in this scam. The scam is about Rs 950 crore and several cases were registered in this regard.
The 1996 fodder scam has not yet returned a single money. The Patna High Court had also entrusted the responsibility of returning the embezzled money to the government treasury while handing over the investigation of the fodder scam to the CBI. In March 1996, the investigation of the fodder scam was handed over to the CBI on the order of the High Court.
Bihar government is preparing to go to court
Now the Bihar government is seen taking the initiative to deposit the embezzled amount back to the government treasury. However, recovery of this amount is considered a very difficult task. The amount of embezzlement was to be recovered by selling the property of officers and middlemen besides politicians. This is why this work is not considered easy.
By the way, the Bihar government is preparing to knock the door of the court to deposit the money in the government treasury. In this regard, apart from CBI, the Income Tax Department is also being brainstorming. Informed sources say that the government will soon take steps in this direction.
Politics will heat up before the election
The echo of Bihar’s fodder scam was heard across the country. Under this scam, Rs 950 crore was rigged from the government treasury through fake bills in the name of Animal Husbandry Department. The case was revealed in 1996 and was named the fodder scam. Apart from Lalu Prasad Yadav, the accused in the case included many other leaders, government officials and middlemen. Many people were found guilty in this case and some were acquitted.
RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav was also sentenced in five cases. With the preparations for the Bihar government to recover the money, now their trouble has increased. Assembly elections are going to be held soon in Bihar. Therefore, it is believed that politics will also heat up. Other NDA allies including BJP and JDU will also take an attacker stance on Lalu and it will not be easy for the RJD to respond to these attacks.
