The Bhagalpur district administration has sent proposals from three places to the central institute Directorate of Civil Aviation for land for the new airport. Two of these are in Sultanganj and one in Goradih.
The search for land for the new airport in Bhagalpur, Bihar has been completed. The new airport can also be built in Sultanganj of the district. Earlier, there was a proposal to build an airport on the land of the cowshed in Goradih. But due to lack of space, now two places have been selected in Sultanganj and the proposal has been sent to the Civil Aviation Directorate under the Central Government. However, the District Magistrate sent proposals of three places including Goradih to the Cabinet Secretariat, out of which two are in Sultanganj.
According to the information, a total of 855 acres of land has been marked by the district administration to the west of Sultanganj-Deoghar Road and south of the under-construction four-lane for the construction of the new airport. It has been reported that there is 300 acres of land in Masdi Mouza, 225 acres in Nonsar Mouza, 50 acres in Rajganj Mouza, 205 acres in Kaswa Mouza, 40 acres in Sujapur Mouza and 35 acres in Manjhali Mouza.

Apart from this, a proposal has also been sent for another piece of land located west of Akbarnagar-Shahkund Road and south of the four-lane in Sultanganj. In this, 573.5 acres of land is available in Akbarnagar Mauja, 75 acres in Maheshi, 10 acres in Rabbichak, 125 acres in Rasidpur and 50 acres in Mirhatti Mauja, i.e. a total of 833.5 acres of land is available.
At the same time, it has been said that there is 660.57 acres of government land in the land marked in Gora Dih. This will include the current 281.57 acres of land of the cowshed. It has been said that there is 38 acres of land in Kharwa (police station 470) mauza, 276 acres in Bharat Sarkar Amanat mauza and 65 acres in Kharwa (police station 497).

Bhagalpur ADM Maheshwar Prasad Singh said that instructions have been given to the COs of Goradih and Sultanganj to provide the survey map of these three lands. The proposals for these three plots have been sent by the local administration. Now the Aviation Directorate has to take the final decision on which of these places the new airport will be built in Bhagalpur.
The administration also demanded compensation amount
Hundreds of crores of rupees are estimated to be spent on land acquisition for the proposed new airport in Sultanganj. In this regard, the district administration has also sent the current rate (MVR) of the estimated area of the marked village and the possible amount of compensation to the Directorate of Civil Aviation. In proposal number 1, compensation of Rs 4 billion 16 crore 64 lakh has been estimated for a total of 855 acres of land marked west of Sultanganj-Deoghar Road and south of the under-construction four-lane.

Proposal sent to the Directorate for approval In another proposal of the same zone, compensation of Rs. 3 billion 21 crore 74 lakhs has been estimated for 833.5 acres of land to the west of Akbarnagar-Shahkund Road and south of the four lane. Compensation of Rs. 1 billion 18 crore 44 lakhs has been estimated for 379 acres out of 660.57 acres marked east of Gora Dih. The ADM informed that correspondence has been done from the District Magistrate level regarding sending the proposal to the Directorate and granting it approval.
