Gir Somnath: One person died in a tragic accident in Gir Somnath district of Gujarat. Actually, here a leopard suddenly attacked two people. A 44-year-old man died in a leopard attack. Another person was seriously injured. A forest department official gave information about the incident on Sunday. After the incident, hearing the noise, the leopard ran away from the spot. The injured is undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Forest Department official said that the entire matter is of Kodiya village of Gir Gadhada taluka. Here late on Saturday night, a leopard attacked people sleeping outside their houses near the fields. Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) Karan Bhatia said that one person died on the spot due to the leopard attack. Another person was seriously injured there. As soon as information about the incident was received, nearby people also gathered at the spot. When the villagers raised an alarm, the leopard ran away. After this, the injured was immediately taken to the hospital, where his treatment is going on.
The leopard dragged me away
Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) Karan Bhatia said, “The leopard first attacked Waghabhai Vaghela and when people raised an alarm, he dragged him for some distance. Vaghela died in the attack. After this, hearing the noise, the leopard ran away from there. After some time the leopard returned and attacked another person, injuring him.” Forest Department official said that 6 cages have been installed in the area to catch the leopard. Apart from this, nearby people are being made aware. Also asked to go out with caution. (Input- PTI)
