Like Atul Subhash, in Botad, Gujarat, another husband committed suicide and made a video blaming his wife for his death. Gujarat Police has registered a case against his wife for allegedly abetting suicide. Police said that the deceased had left a video in which he had asked his family to teach his wife a lesson for his death. The matter is of Jamrala village of Botad. The deceased said in the video that his wife used to torture him mentally and being fed up with this, he decided to commit suicide.
According to police, Suresh Sathadia (39) was found hanging from a noose tied to a hook on the ceiling of his house in Jamrala village of Botad district on December 30. An official from Botad rural police station said the family members found a video recording on Suresh’s mobile phone in which he urged his wife to ‘teach a lesson’ for her death.
Case registered against accused wife
The police officer said that based on the complaint of Suresh’s father, an FIR was registered against the deceased man’s wife Jayaben on Friday. The complainant has alleged that the daughter-in-law used to harass his son mentally by repeatedly quarreling with him and visiting her parents’ house every day. The FIR states that Suresh had gone to his in-laws’ house to convince his wife to return home, but when she refused to accompany him, he returned home and hanged himself after recording the video. Police said a case has been registered against the woman under section 108 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and further investigation is underway.
