People were caught and subjected to angioplasty unnecessarily

The investigation revealed that the hospital organized free check-up camps in villages and asked PMJAY cardholders to undergo angioplasty when they had no need for it. According to the investigation, these people were shown in the “emergency” category to get government approval. The hospital later claimed payment under the central scheme.
All the accused in the case are now in jail
The Crime Branch had arrested Rajshree Kothari, one of the directors of the hospital, in December last year when she was going to Bhilwara from Kota in Rajasthan. According to the police, the hospital had prima facie received Rs 11 crore under PMJAY last year. Others arrested in the case include cardiologist Dr Prashant Vazirani, hospital CEO Rahul Jain, marketing director Chirag Rajput, marketing executive Milind Patel and his two assistants Pankil Patel and Prateek Bhatt and directors Rajshree Kothari and Sanjay Patolia.
