The Maharashtra Anti -Terrorism Squad started investigating the case and in this, people associated with Hindu right -wing groups like Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur were arrested. At that time it was told that the bike in which the explosion occurred was named after Sadhvi Pragya. However, it could not be proved during the investigation.
