Manmohan singh memory: Land has been allotted for the memorial of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of the country. The land near the land fixed by the government to become a memorial of former President Pranab Mukherjee has been allotted for the monument of Manmohan Singh. The land will be officially allocated after the approval of the trust of the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s family. The trust will be given an amount of Rs 25 lakh from the government. This amount will be spent in the construction work of the memorial.
It is noteworthy that after the death of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, land was being searched for the construction of the memorial. For which the survey was also done. The Urban Development Ministry and CPWD have decided to allocate the land near former President Pranab Mukherjee for Manmohan Singh’s memorial.
This land comes under the National Smriti Sthal. Which was determined by the UPA government in 2013 by bringing a proposal. There is also a memorial of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Bajpai in the premises of this land. CPWD officials visited the National Smriti Sthal earlier in January. After this, some lands were proposed to the family of former PM Manmohan Singh. One of which has been agreed.
In fact, after the death of Manmohan Singh, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge wrote a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah demanding that his funeral be done at the place where his memorial could be built. On this, the government had said in response that land is being searched for the memorial. Like other late leaders, their grand memorial will be built. However, Manmohan Singh was cremated at Nigam Bodh Ghat. Along with the Congress, many opposition leaders had objected to this.
