There is a big stir in Haryana. Ramit Khattar, nephew of former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, has joined the Congress. Manohar Lal Khattar is currently a powerful minister in the central government. Even though the CM is Naib Singh Saini, Manohar Lal is still considered to have a good status in the state. Not only this, Naib Singh Saini is also considered to be one of his close leaders. In such a situation, someone from Khattar’s family joining the Congress is like a shock for the BJP. Rohtak MLA Bharat Bhushan Batra was also present when Ramit Khattar joined the Congress.
Ramit Khattar is the son of former CM Manohar Lal Khattar’s brother Jagdish. In 2020, Ramit Khattar’s name also came up in the case of beating of a divisional forest officer. Not only this, an FIR was also filed in this case and Ramit’s name was also registered in it. The forest officer had alleged that Ramit Khattar was also present when he was beaten up. When asked in this regard, Ramit Khattar had said that I run my own business. This incident should not be seen as if I am a relative of the CM. My friend Rajat has had some issues with the forest department.
He said that I was going to Chandigarh, but went to the forest department office with my friend. He had some work there. Not only this, when forest officer G. Raman was asked about Ramit, he said that he did not know that he was Manohar Lal Khattar’s nephew. He said that Ramit never introduced himself as Ramit Khattar. It is worth noting that Manohar Lal Khattar is considered to have a good influence among the Punjabi community of Haryana. He is also a Lok Sabha MP from Karnal seat, where there is a good population of Punjabi community. Apart from this, there is a large number of Punjabi community in Ambala, Kurukshetra and Yamunanagar.
