The whole family ate poison
Sabarkantha: Five people of the same family collectively tried to commit suicide in Vadali city of Sabarkantha district. The family died in the incident while 4 members have been admitted to the hospital. After the initial treatment at Wadali’s Eider, all have been referred to Himmatnagar Hospital. It is being told that due to economic reasons, the family took this step of collective suicide. The incident took place in Sagarwada area of Vadeli.
It is said that Vinubhai lives with Sagar family in Sagarwada area of Vadali city. The family has a wife and two sons and a daughter. According to initial information, he ate poison along with the whole family due to financial constraints. After eating poisonous medicine, everyone’s health started deteriorating. Hearing the noise inside the house, the people of the neighborhood ran. People from the neighborhood immediately admitted everyone to the nearest hospital. But seeing the situation deteriorating, the doctors referred him to Himmatnagar Civil Hospital.
Vinubhai Mohanbhai Sagar (44 years), the head of the family, died during treatment at a hospital in Himmatnagar. Wife Kokila sister (33 years), daughter Krishna aka Bhumika Ben (19) Narendra Kumar (17) Narendra Kumar alias Shankar (15) had consumed poisonous medicine. The police is investigating the case by recording the statements of all.
Explain that suicide figures in the country are worrisome and in recent years they have seen an increase. According to data from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), a total of 1,71,000 suicides were recorded in India in 2022. This number was about 2.6% higher than the previous years. On average, about 468 suicides occurred daily, that is, there were about 19-20 cases every hour. 1,64,033 suicides were recorded in the year 2021, with men’s share of more than 70%.
