MNS protest on language dispute: The language dispute in Maharashtra is now taking a terrible form in such a way that the workers of Raj Thackeray’s party MNS have now taken to the streets. The situation has become such that a few days ago party workers beat up a food stall owner, against which the business organizations protested fiercely. Now in response to this, MNS workers have taken out a rally on Tuesday, where the police is also taking strict action.
According to the information, this rally was taken out without police approval and due to this, there was an atmosphere of severe jam and tension in Thane district. Even before the rally started, the police detained several prominent leaders along with MNS’s Thane and Palghar chief Avinash Jadhav at 3:30 am.
Reacting to this, MNS leader Sandeep Deshpande said, “This situation is like an emergency. Our leaders were detained in the morning while the Gujarati traders’ rally is being given full respect. Is this Maharashtra government or the Government of Gujarat?” He further said, “Whatever the government does, this rally of Marathi people will remain through.”
What did CM Fadnavis say on MNS’s protests?
Reacting to the matter, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the rally that MNS workers took out were not on the approved path. That is why the police were forced to take strict action. He said that Maharashtra is a democratic state and anyone can perform here, but it is mandatory for him to take approval first.
Beating incident and displeasure of business community
In fact, the dispute began when earlier this month, a food stall owner in Meera-Bhayandar area was beaten by some MNS workers only because he was not speaking Marathi. The video of this incident was also very viral on social media, after which there was a huge resentment in the business community. A peaceful rally was planned by the traders to protest against the incident. The MNS described it against Marathi Asmita and took out a rally in protest itself.
What did former CM Prithviraj Chavan say on this matter?
Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan also expressed his displeasure over this whole matter. Prithviraj Chavan said, “If a party beats those who do not speak Marathi, we will not support them at all. We strongly condemn it, if Marathi people also live in other states, will they be beaten?” Appealing to the Chief Minister, he said, “Whatever law takes the law, strict action should be necessary against him.”
