The news of the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui has spread mourning in his native village Shekhtoli in Gopalganj. Siddiqui had a deep attachment to his village. Had formed a trust in his father’s name, which runs 40 schools in Bihar.

After the murder of NCP (Ajit faction) leader Baba Siddiqui in Mumbai, there is mourning in his native village Shekhtoli of Manjhagarh block of Gopalganj district. Even though he created his political identity by living in Mumbai, he also had a deep attachment to his ancestral village. He used to help the students of the village high school and madrasa in their education. He had set up a trust in the name of his father Abdul Rahim Siddiqui. This trust operates 40 educational institutions in various districts of Bihar. Through this, poor students are given training for preparation and skill development of various competitive examinations.

Baba Siddiqui alias Baba Ziauddin Siddiqui’s father Abdul Rahim Siddiqui was a resident of Shekhtoli village of Manjhagarh police station area of ​​Gopalganj district. About 60 years ago he went to Mumbai to earn his living. In Mumbai, he opened a watch and radio repair shop to earn his living. Then settled there. He has his own house in Bandra West. Baba Siddiqui was born on September 13, 1958 in Mumbai itself. The villagers of Shekhtoli say that Baba Siddiqui had achieved position in Maharashtra politics on the basis of tireless struggle. In his native village, his cousin, late Mohd. Jalaluddin’s family lives there.

Imamuddin Hawari of Shekhtoli village told that Baba Siddiqui had come to the village for the first time in 2008 after becoming a minister in the Maharashtra government. Then he had said that I will leave no stone unturned for the development of my native village. He used to distribute school bags to the boys and girls of Madhav High School of his village and incentive amount of Rs. 10,000 each to the first class students who scored better marks in their class.

Nephew Gurfan told that in 2018, Baba Siddiqui had distributed incentive amount of Rs 10 thousand each to the meritorious students of many government schools of Gopalganj district. He opened Madrasa, an institute for free education in the village. A cemetery and a cricket practice center were also constructed. His nephews Gurfan and Furkan told that whenever he came to the village, he used to inquire about the well being of the villagers. The villagers are impressed by his gentle nature.

Last visited village on 1 April 2022

Baba Siddiqui last visited his native village Shekhtoli on 1 April 2022. Then he distributed school bags among the children of the village through Abdul Rahim Memorial Trust. He used to send the entire expenses of the children studying in the hostel in the Madrasa of Shekhtoli. His nephew Gurfan told that Baba Siddiqui had opened 40 institutions across Bihar through the Abdul Rahim Memorial Trust established in the memory of his father. Through this, students are provided free preparation for competitive exams. There are three such institutions in Gopalganj district. Gurfan looks after it.

There was talk of building a marriage hall five days ago.

Baba Siddiqui wanted to buy land in Manjhagarh and build a marriage hall. Five days ago, after talking to his nephew Gurfan, he had given him the responsibility to buy the land. He had also talked about coming to the village after the Maharashtra elections.
