MP Katni Case: In Madhya Pradesh’s Katni district, a woman and a minor were beaten up by the Government Railway Police (GRP) in the police station. Now the video of this incident is going viral on social media. People are expressing their strong reaction on this video and raising questions on this inhuman act done by the police and are demanding strict action from the state government and railway administration on this incident. Seeing the anger of the people on social media, the railway has taken a big action on this incident. On Thursday, the railway administration suspended all the police personnel who were seen beating in the video on charges of assault. Although the incident happened in October last year, the video went viral at this time, on the basis of which action was taken. The people who were beaten in the video are relatives of the criminal.
Five police personnel suspended, Monika Shukla will investigate
Giving information about this action, GRP Superintendent of Police Simala Prasad said that this incident will be investigated by Madhya Pradesh DIG (Deputy Inspector General) Railway Monika Shukla and further action will be taken accordingly. We have seen the original video. There is a CCTV camera installed in the office here and on the basis of that, TI Aruna Vahane has been suspended for beating in the video. Along with this, five other policemen seen in the video have also been suspended.
The incident happened in October last year
Police said that the case of beating in the viral video is from October last year, but recently its video has surfaced on social media and this incident came to light, on the basis of which 5 police personnel including TI have been suspended. DIG Railway Monika Shukla will investigate the matter thoroughly. Investigation has been started. Further action will be taken as per the facts revealed in the investigation.

SP GRP posted on X on the viral video. On this, he said that the fact that has come to light after getting information about the incident is that the video shown is found to be of October 2023. The people seen in the said video are relatives of criminal Deepak Vanskar. There are 19 cases registered against Deepak Vanskar in GRP police station Katni. Deepak Vanskar is a criminal under surveillance since the year 2017. Last year, a reward of Rs 10,000 was announced for Deepak Vanskar’s absconding in a theft case. In April this year, orders were given to expel Vanskar from Katni district. On getting facts from social media (video viral), the station in-charge of GRP Katni has been removed and orders have been given to the Deputy Superintendent of Police Railway to investigate.
NCW also jumped into the matter
On the other hand, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has also taken cognizance of this matter and has written a letter to the DGP demanding a quick and fair investigation. Also, it said that a report of this incident should be given within three days and action should be taken against those responsible for this.
