Manoj jaranrange notice: The Mumbai Police has issued a notice to the Maratha Reservation Movement leader Manoj Jarange Patil in Mumbai. The police have asked them to immediately vacate the Azad Maidan. This notice is given following the direction of the Bombay High Court. In view of the increasing situation in the city, the High Court has ordered the protesters to vacate all the roads and maintain peace by Tuesday afternoon.
Manoj Jarange Patil is sitting on an indefinite fast at Azad Maidan in Mumbai to demand reservation for the Maratha community. His movement has now reached the fifth day. During the movement, Manoj Jarage has said that he will not leave Mumbai until the Maratha society is given reservation by including the OBC (Other Backward Classes) category. They are very firm about this demand and are appealing to the government to fulfill it soon.
Why issued notice?
The reason for the notice given by the police to Manoj Jarange Patil is that the terms and conditions fixed for the movement have been violated. The Mumbai Police has clearly stated that it is their responsibility to maintain peace and order. Due to the movement, traffic jams, general life are being interrupted in many areas, which is causing trouble to the people.
High court decision
The Bombay High Court has said that due to the Maratha reservation movement, the situation in the entire Mumbai has become tense. The court said that the movement is no longer peaceful and the rules are being violated. Therefore, the High Court has ordered Jaran and their supporters to vacate all the roads by Tuesday afternoon so that the general situation can return to the city.
Manoj Jarange’s response
Manoj Jarange has upheld his demands and said that reservation is very important for the Maratha community. He insisted that he will leave Mumbai only until the government accepts their demands. He has spoken of increasing employment and education opportunities for Maratha youth and has hoped to show sensitivity from the government.
