Mumbai Train Accident: A heartbreaking railway accident has surfaced in Mumbra area of Mumbai. According to the information, 10 to 12 passengers fell down from the moving train between Mumbra and Diva station. Of these, 5 passengers have died on the spot. There has been a stir in the area after this incident. Photos and videos of the accident are also going viral on social media.
How did the accident happen?
According to preliminary information, these passengers were traveling on Pushpak Express, which was going from Mumbai to Lucknow. The train was very crowded, due to which many passengers were traveling by hanging near the doors. Meanwhile, suddenly some passengers fell on the track below the moving train.
What did eyewitnesses tell?
According to an eyewitness, the passenger was traveling in a fast local train going from Dombivali towards Mumbai and on the other side there was Pushpak Express, all the passengers were standing on the footboard of the train and hanging from the doors. They all fell down due to sudden balance deteriorating. Two female passengers have also been confirmed near Diva station. At the moment it is not clear which compartment the passengers were in and how the accident happened.
Statistics of railway accidents are also scary
According to data from Central Railway, 663 people have died on Thane, Dombivali and Kalyan routes only from January 2024 to March 2025. Out of these, 391 people died while crossing the railway track, while 272 people were killed due to falling from the moving train.
Administration appeal
The railway administration has repeatedly appealed to the passengers to take precautions. Passengers have been asked not to be cautious while climbing and landing in the train, do not travel by hanging from doors and take more care while crossing the track.
