There was a huge uproar in Alirajpur, Madhya Pradesh late on Sunday night. The wife of a Mali community couple returning after watching Garba was molested by the youth of Muslim community. After this, a large number of people of Mali community gathered and started creating ruckus. As soon as the information was received, Collector Dr. Abhay Arvind Bedekar and SP Rajesh Vyas reached the spot with a large number of police forces. Police used mild force to control the crowd. Police have registered a case against 7 people and arrested two accused.
According to the information, this incident happened at 12:30 pm on Sunday at Jama Masjid Road in Alirajpur Nagar. The couple from Mali community were going to their home after seeing the Garba. During this time, Muslim youth molested the woman on Jama Masjid road. After this a large crowd gathered at the spot. The crowd started demonstrating in front of the accused’s house.
The people of Mali community demanded that the accused be handed over to them. There was a clash between the police and the people in the crowd regarding this matter. After this the police had to use mild force. Seeing the demonstration of the crowd, the Collector and SP had to take charge of the ground. During this, the Collector and SP remained present at the spot for about 3 hours. Collector Dr. Abhay Arvind Bedekar asked people to lodge complaints. Whatever the complaint, action will be taken accordingly.
Collector Dr. Abhay Arvind Bedekar said that you people should not take the law into your hands. Whoever the accused is, he cannot escape from the law. Legal action will be taken against whoever committed the incident. At present, the police have registered a case against 7 people and arrested 2 accused. Other accused are being searched.
