Love jihad case: A peculiar case has come to light from the Ashoka Garden police station area of Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, which has been described by Hindu organizations as a case of ‘Love Jihad’. In this case, the young man and the woman are making serious allegations against each other. The young man says that the woman implicated him in a love affair by telling him a false identity and later started pressuring for conversion. At the same time, the woman claims that the young man made relations several times by pretending to marry and gave medicines for abortion.
Complaint lodged in the police station
A young man named Shekhar Silavat has lodged a complaint with the police station that a young woman contacted her by calling herself a Shreya through Instagram and Facebook. Later, the closeness between the two grew and for four years the woman interacted in the name of Hindu. Shekhar alleges that after marriage, the woman described herself as Neelofar and started pressurizing her to adopt Muslim religion. In addition, the woman wanted Shekhar to legally adopt her three children. Shekhar also claimed that the woman had two Aadhaar cards and had once kidnapped her. As soon as the case was caught, Hindu organizations reached the police station and expressed apprehension of love jihad and demanded action.
False case filed
On the other hand, a woman named Neelofar also presented her side in the police station. He says that Shekhar already knew that he is a Muslim, married and he has three children. Despite this, there was a relationship between the two. The woman alleged that she was pregnant in August 2023 but Shekhar shot a abortion. In April 2025, he was given an unknown medicine when he was pregnant again. The woman also says that on 6 May 2025, both of them got married at the Arya Samaj temple, but two days later Shekhar got engaged to another girl. When the woman protested, Shekhar filed a false case against her. At present, the police is investigating the complaints of both the parties and further action has been said.
