The Maharashtra government has shifted the Eid-e-Milad holiday from September 16 to September 18. According to the official statement, the Muslim community has decided to take out the Eid procession on September 18 instead of 16. September 17 is also Anant Chaturdashi. This is the last day of Ganesh Puja. In such a situation, this decision has been taken keeping in mind the arrangements.
Officials say that local collectors can reschedule Eid holidays in different districts depending on the situation there. On Sunday, Maharashtra Congress leader Naseem Khan had asked Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to declare Eid-e-Milad holiday on September 18 instead of September 16.
He had said, Anant Chaturdashi is on 17 September. In such a situation, the people of the Muslim community have decided that they will take out the procession of Eid-e-Milad on 18 September. In this way both the festivals can be celebrated with harmony. Let us tell you that the last day of Ganpati festival is on 17 September. This time Eid-e-Milad is falling on 16 September.
For the second time, people of the Muslim community have come forward and proposed to shift the Eid-e-Milad holiday keeping in mind communal harmony.
