Nagrota Assembly Election Result 2024 Live Updates: Nagrota Assembly seat of Jammu district is quite special. This time the political contest here is quite interesting. A direct contest is being considered between BJP and National Conference in Nagrota. BJP has given ticket to former NC provincial president Devendra Singh Rana from this seat. At the same time, NC has made former BJP DDC Joginder Singh Kaku its candidate. Now it is quite interesting to see on whom the voters place their trust. Both the major candidates are those who have once been in each other’s party and have sought votes from the public.
Nagrota Assembly seat came into existence in the year 1996. Last time i.e. in 2014 elections, NC won. Devendra Singh Rana, who was the provincial president of NC at that time, became the MLA from here. Last time BJP was successful in winning 9 out of 11 assembly seats in Jammu district, but failed in Nagrota. Devendra Rana got 39.3 percent votes while BJP candidate Nand Kishore had to be satisfied with 6.74 percent votes. But, in 2021, Rana left NC and joined BJP. After some time, Joginder Singh Kaku left BJP and joined NC.
